Cafe au Lait Dahlia

Important! There are natural variations in Cafe au Lait dahlias.  Real flowers are unique. They are not like the cookie-cutter, mass produced plastic flowers you see in craft stores. Real things are more chaotic than that.  While I shudder to label any dahlia as chaotic, it is somewhat true of the Cafe au Lait dahlia. She is an old heirloom variety that is prone to more variability than other flowers (especially fake ones.) Rest assured that Doc's standards are high for your investment in her art. The flower in your shadow box will have at minimum two rows of petals and be of the same size or slightly larger as the one shown.

Care Instructions

Doc Green's shadowboxes are composed of flowers and plants that were grown on her flower farm in Georgia. The materials in each box are either air-dried, pressed, or dried in silica beads.  Because the materials are entirely real, they are delicate. While these works of art are expected to last many years, their longevity depends on you. To retain vibrant colors, hang your shadow box inside and away from direct sunlight.  Sunlight fades the color on dried flowers, so it is important to keep the shadow box away from direct sunlight.
